Hartamas Regency

Right after getting the breakfast ready yesterday morning, we headed to Hartamas Regency for a day trip.Not only me who went through the 'edah' period, so did the children. A complete nowhere.

Since yesterday there was no lecture and Syakira has finally finished her exam, we planned for a day trip to the condo.

Their happy moments were captured and they had fun.but still,  it was a different feeling........

 After spending for hours in the pool, we headed home at around 4.00pm.  It was nice seeing them enjoying their time together.......

26 November 2012, Without You

26 November, is arwah Hanif's date of birth. This year and in fact today, no more birthday cake and present, but only 'doa' to arwah papa. May Allah swt. in his infinite mercy bless his soul with forgiveness and  admit him in the eternal bliss of paradise, Al fatihah.....

This time I wish to share the memories, writings and contributions done by Arwah.  He did things based on due dates.  Arwah spent end of every month analyzing bulk of newspapers and summarised  into a three page column for his Dewan Ekonomi article. At times I assisted him with the translations.

Pada bulan Disember 2011, Indeks Komposit Kuala Lumpur FBM mula meningkat kembali. Indeks mula melepasi tahap 1500 mata pada 27 Disember dan terus berada pada paras yang setara sehingga akhir bulan. Indeks ditutup dengan 1530.73 mata pada hari terakhir bulan Disember, berbanding dengan 1472.10 mata pada bulan sebelumnya. Perbezaan ini menunjukkan kenaikan sebanyak 58.63 mata (3.98 peratus).

Unit dagangan juga turun sedikit, dengan 35 398.92 juta unit berbanding dengan 37 993.89 juta unit pada bulan November 2011. Unit dagangan harian berada pada paras di atas 1000 juta unit pada setiap hari kecuali pada 23 Disember 2011.

At the same time he was also contributing to the Malaysian Institute Of Accountant (MIA) writing the case studies and many more. He was also lecturing one of the MIA papers. Please share this last piece of work planned with MIA as one of the moderators.

Earlier in the brochure extract as above, he was acknowledged as one of the symposium moderators, but nevertheless his sudden demise on the 11th July2012 had turned to be part of the contents in the keynote address of the President. It was very sad indeed when I read it in the MIA website recently. I hope his good deeds has and will keep on benefiting everyone and may we share the appreciation by MIA President, Datuk Mohd. Nasir Ahmad for our remembrance......

Today

Today,

I started my day as usual, but this morning was quite chaotic, laundry, breakfast for the kids, the clothes and  straight to 8.30 morning class.  It was quite a busy traffic, and finally reached level seven quite late. Apparently,  I was not the only one being late when the classroom was still locked. Everyone was still waiting outside and finally,  minutes later  managed to get the key, thank you Najmi.

Tutorial on Income Statement and SOFP, but thought of viewing the students' previous tutorial answer. Some showed their effort and most of them didn't, too bad. Thus, the class started with a short piece of advice and 'tazkirah' instead. Sorry guys, sometimes it is necessary as  a gentle reminder. I really hope they manage although accounting lecturer is always the last in the list just because you are teaching accounting (My nephew even quoted accounting paper as a killing paper). I wonder why........

However, after a while they were at the right track and the photos below proved it.

Today,

My first day after the 'four months and ten days' ('edah') ended. Few acquaintances who had
experienced before claimed the period was just perfect to settle and coped well 'emotionally'. Nevertheless, I am still trying hard to patch things up and cannot deny the feeling of pain and agony. No matter how tough it is, by hook or by crook I have to go through the new episode of my life. 

Today,

The 9th day of Muharram (the first month of Islamic calendar) and towards Muharram the 10th. The first month Muharram, is a month of great reward and virtue.  Muharram itself means `sacred' and is from those months which have been mentioned as sacred in the Holy Quraan. 

 Almighty Allah states in the Holy Quraan:

"Four of them ( Zil-Qadah, Zil-Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab) are sacred."

(Surah At-Tawbah:36)

Many Muslims fast during daylight hours on the 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th days of the month to mark the Day of Asyura.  

10th Muharram - Things To Do :

1. Freeing up your time/spending on your wife and children - Allah will free up his life this year.
2. Honouring the poor and needy- Allah will free up space in his grave later
3. Controlling your Anger - At Akhirat later, Allah will categorise him among the people who are ridha or patient

4. Show the people who are lost the true path- Allah will fill your heart with the light of Imaan

5. Running  hand on the head of a child with no parents- Allah will give  a tree for each strand of hair he touches.

6. Giving alms (sadaqah)- Allah will put him away from the fire the distance a crow flies since its birth to its death. He is also given sinners as though he has given sadaqah to every poor soul in the world

7. Take care of his self-respect- Allah will provide you a life filled with the light of imaan

8. Take a Sunnah Bath: Will not get any heavy or bad sickness for the entire year. Niat: I bath on the day of Asyura, sunnah, on the purpose of Allah swt.

9. Putting on kohls- Will not suffer from any forms of eye diseases.

10. To read Al Ikhlas for a 1000 times- Allah will look at you with mercy at Akhirat later.

11. Do a 4-rakaat Sunnah prayer- Allah will forgive sins even if it has been with you for the past 50 years. Niat: I pray on the day of Asyura, four raka'at, sunnah, for the purpose of Allah swt. For the first two rak'at recite, after Al-Fatihah, Qulhu Allahu Ahad 11 times.

13. Serve Iftar(break fast): Given sinners as though you have fed the entire Muslim Ummah around the world

14. Fast Niat: I fast Sunnah Asyura the next day for the purpose of Allah swt- given sinners equivalent to 1000 hajjs, 1000 umrahs, 1000 Syahids and the hell is forbidden for him.

May we be showered with his blessings...........

I miss the moment

This week is a busy week. Every single minute is fully occupied and the first week of school holiday. It is common for parents to take the opportunity to plan various activities.  I supposed nowadays kids are so much occupied with activities planned by their parents (whether they like it or not) and no compromise! I see this scenario as very common in our country. One of the most popular activities is of course the "berkhatan" either individually or in groups.  Same thing goes to our family. My son Hakim and his cousin Cuki were circumcised two days ago. It was quite happening, almost everyone in the family accompanied them to the clinic. The process was less complicated since it was done with laser technique.  Hakim was very corperative and in fact he managed everything by himself. My prayer is that Hakim will always be blessed by Allah.

Early in the morning I went to Uitm as usual and headed to Telok Panglima Garang right after class. Our cousin Allahyarhamah Kak Sinar passed away yesterday late in the afternoon and it was quite sudden. Let us pray she is placed among the righteous, alfatihah......The sudden demise reminded me of July the 11th. and although it has been four months and five days for Arwah Hanif but I feel it happens today...........

Few days ago akak (buji) was on her way to the market when I called her. So I did ask her to buy some squids and shrimps and she asked me for the quantity. I did not really respond until she answered herself, "Tak tahulah ni banyak mana nak beli ye sebab selama ni Hanif yang beli". She was right. And yesterday, we bought some durians from Syakira's friend since Hasya was so excited to have some. Same thing happened. We took longer time to enjoy the durian feast, and yes arwah  was the one who always managed in seconds. The experiences may sound too simple to all but as for me these are the moments which meant a lot to me and the kids as well."Kalau papa ada ni, dah settle...." A typical sentence from my  kids now, and yes I admit it. Being quite dependent, I have to see things differently now. My mom is even taking time to have trust on me, and in fact comparing with others. "Zan tu bukannya tahu apa-apa, lainla kalau Aji ke Lely ke, Ini semua Hanif yang buat. To all of you, I take it positively. do not worry. Wow, I am in my forties but everything is like a new beginning.

Once, I was discussing about family and relationship. Apparently my collegue in the previous workplace shared her experience and it seemed her husband and Arwah shared the same personalities and characters. They prefer to share everything with us from clothing to household. In other words, they are quite conservative and maybe annoying to some.  While sharing the experiences, another colleague interrupted and said "Kak zan sekuran-kurangnya ada husband nak ambil tahu dan nak share semua. Saya teringin nak macam tu tapi suami saya kalau ajak pegi kedai sama-sama, dia kata nak,pergilah sendiri," That very moment taught me to be thankful and appreciate things and I took it as a positive reminder. I must admit it was quite a disturbance at first but as years went by I tried to adapt and now I missed the moment....To all husbands, no matter how strong and independent your wives are, I am sure they always longed for your care and attention instead of being ignorant. Better late than never. I might be wrong but this is what I am missing.

I pray to Allah to be stronger each day for the family and I thank you  for the continuous support from everyone. Its time to prove  although I am the youngest and will always be but I am taking things wisely, in sya allah.

Memories Remain

It has been almost two weeks since I last updated my blog. Time is really a constraint right now and we are always aware that "time and tides wait for no man".  Anyway no matter how occupied we are, it is always necessary to have time for ourselves. I feel that is part of self therapy to stay healthy. 

I wish to share and continue my chapters of life from the previous blog. Arwah and i started our life independently. Although it was quite tough but we learnt a lot.  Anyway, it was when Syakira was almost eight months old when we came back to Malaysia for good. Families  insisted us too, and we finally decided to come home.

Convocation ceremony in Kuala Lumpur :) 

Being a parent with a baby, we had to survive for our living.  Alhamdulillah arwah managed to find a job and I joined the teaching line.  That was the time when arwah started his Audit, frequent out stations and due dates to adhere. The worst scenario was that he spent very little time with us but we still managed with the support from our families. Thank you all and i always appreciate.

Anyway, our second baby Hasya Syakira was born in 1997, followed by Haziq (2000),and  Hakim (2003) and  I told arwah having  two boys and two girls were perfect. He spontaneously claimed he preferred odd number instead. In 2006 Hanna was born.

First and foremost - Husna Syakira (1995)

Second - Hasya Syakira (1997)

Third - Muhammad Haziq (2000)

Fourth - Muhammad Hakim (2003)

Last but not least - Hanna Syakira (2006)

He knew he was so much occupied but he enjoyed every little moment with all of them.  Whenever he can, he insisted us to follow him even for one night stay.  "I know I am going to be very busy with discussion, presentation and workshop for the whole day, but at least it is a relief to see all of you by my side at night".  Park Royal Singapore, Cyberview Lodge, Cyberjaya, Shang Ri-La, Pullman, Equatorial, Nilai Springs, Avillion Port Dickson, Corus Paradise and many more were his family vacation and workplace as well. Now he has gone. I said to them things will never be the same. I think my little Hanna tried to adapt when once she said to me. "Mama, papa dah meninggal tapi boleh tak nanti bila Kak Syakira dah kerja Hanna suruh dia bawa kita pergi hotel lagi. I can just smile and agreed. I know they have always enjoyed the swimming pool and the moment with Papa especially during supper. The memories will never fade away..............
